Jae Jackson-Loveridge
A dad who felt constantly exhausted says he’s lost 7% of body fat after cutting ‘red flag’ foods from his diet.
Jae Jackson-Loveridge, 29, spent four or five days a week lifting weights, running, playing sports and watching what he ate but despite his efforts, he struggled to see results.
The recruitment company director from Banbury in Oxfordshire eventually decided to take a test with food intolerance test company Supply Life and says he has seen a ‘huge difference’ in both his sleep, energy levels and his physique.
Jae said: “It was frustrating. I'm quite a committed person but even at work I was just feeling demotivated and not great.
“I reached a point where I was feeling tired and exhausted all of the time. I was going to the gym but I wasn't really achieving anything. It was just very stagnant despite lots of effort so it didn’t really calculate.”
Jae sought advice from doctors who tested him for Celiac disease but the results were clear. He also tried diets low in carbohydrates and high in protein hoping the scales would eventually shift - but with no joy.
Supply Life specialise in tests measuring IgG antibodies in the blood which indicate a sensitivity to specific foods.
After a test it was revealed Jae is intolerant to a long list of foods including peas, wheat, rice and dairy.
He said: “Peas were one of my favorite vegetables and I was eating them all the time. I’m intolerant to wheat and dairy and barley and malt and all these different things.
“So regardless of how healthy my diet is, if I'm eating pasta, it's making me bloated. If I'm eating rice, it's making me bloated.”
Jae says he cut all of the foods marked as ‘red’ out of his diet - and the results were significant.
He said: “I kept everything else the same and I dropped about 6 or 7% of body fat pretty much immediately.
“Work actually improved because I felt I had more energy and more enthusiasm and motivation. My exercise improved, my health improved and my sleep improved.”
Before his journey with Supply Life Jae weighed around 86kg and had a body fat of 20-21%. He now weighs around 82kg but has about 14-15% body fat.
He said: “We now just substitute for things that are in keeping with the intolerances that I have. I have a bread that’s made without yeast and wheat and I swapped cow’s milk for oat milk. I probably now consume more food but I’m still seeing better results.
“I’m going to the gym and looking forward to training and to having better sessions. I play golf, padel and football. My golf is the best that it has ever been. At work we’ve just had our best financial quarter so in all areas things have improved.
“For me going forward I just wanted to be fit, be able to go for a run and just be healthy.”
